Hello, can anyone help me?

I had septoplasty surgery Jan. 28. No splints and disolveable packing. I saw my doctor Feb. 8 (yesterday) and he says I'm healing fine. I thought he would remove any packing still in my nose because I'm still unable to breathe easily... but he said it's all dissolved. It's just still swollen tissues. I asked when it would unswell and he said it might take up to FOUR MONTHS!!!

I am freaked out now, since I am really unable to breathe or taste or sleep easily. I am regretting having the procedure done at this point since I thought it would be better not worse! He advised to take decongestants and I don't want to have to do that everyday of my life (hence, the reason for the surgery in the first place!)

Can anyone advise anything else for me to do? Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!

hey i hope you find this because i see you posted in feb. i just had a septoplasty 3 weeks ago and splints taken out. and i'm still SOO congested that my regular dr actually just put me on anxiety medicine because it feels so suffocating sometimes! haha. not really funny but i guess i gotta laugh to get through. i see you said your ent said that it could take up to 4 months to unswell. how did that go for you? did it really take that long? are you super happy with your breathing now? i hope this works because my breathing has been getting in the way of daily activities (especially active ones)!

Thank you if you can give me any info Smile

if i found your post back in feb i would have suggested that you could do saline irrigations. thats the only thing that i find helps a little for a few hours
