Okay I had my tonsils out on Friday so I am on day 5 and I am noticing that everything tastes nasty. The only thing I am enjoying is Mac and Cheese and that hurts my throat still it hurts to swallow. Crying or Very sad I woke up at 3 am and was in such bad pain. I really just want to know when I can eat normal again without it being so painful that I can't bare it. Please help.. Question

It will be awhile buddy. Based on your age, and your body healing processes, the number of days for full recoveries varies.

i'm 26 & had my tonsils out 8 days ago - i was told to try & eat normally as soon as possible, i had toast & cereal the morning after the op. although it may be uncomfortable to eat solids i think it does help to clear away the crud at the back of your throat.
try & time your painkillers so that they're well in your system by mealtimes.
other than that, like duc83 said, you'll just have to be patient & wait a couple weeks before you can enjoy ur food like before!
