Hi, I`m 56 and never had some serious health problem. Until now, that is. I don`t live healthy, first of all. I drink, I smoke, I eat more meats then veggies, I like greasy food, bacon especially (and am fat). But, few days ago I`ve experienced some problems. In few occasions I had troubles with speaking, walking and sudden headaches. Also, sometimes, out of nowhere I feel weakness in my left arm and leg. I thought it happened because of my unhealthy way of life, but a friend, who had a stroke, told me that I might have pre-stroke symptoms. Anybody with some info on that?

Hi, I had a stroke last year and sorry to tell you, but you should go to the hospital, at once. Alcohol could be the cause of your troubles with speaking and walking but I don`t think like the smokes and alcohol could give you weakness in your LEFT arm and leg. Anyway, the warning signs of stroke are sudden numbness of the face, arm or leg (especially on one side of the body), confusion, troubles with speaking, understanding, walking and seeing, dizziness, loss of balance, severe headaches. All of those symptoms come out of nowhere. Also, warning signs may start up to a week before the stroke, so you better hurry.
