preagnant and breakthrough bleeding

i am pregnant and i was on the pill. i got a positive pregnancy test, so i am sure i am. so i stopped taking the pill and a few says later i had breakthrough bleeding like when you miss a pill. is that normal? did i have a miscarriage?
