My husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, so I am on 2 medications...Seroquil and effexor. I wam wondering if it is safe to continue my medication and stop when i become pregnant(missed period) or will it have bad effects on the fetus......

You need to discuss your options with the doc who prescribed the meds to you as well as to your gyn who will be leading you through your pregnancy.

The effects of these drugs on the pregnancy haven't been studied enough and there is no simple answer. YOu need to talk with your doctor and see if you should continue with the meds or stop them. You shouldn't stop the meds on your own.

Breastfeeding is not advised while taking these drugs.
