My mother has been fighting with ASL for almost two years now. She has been diagnosed with bulbar form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. We were informed that ther is no cure but still would like to know if there were any progress in this field. She has been experiencing problems with weight in late lou gehrig’s disease and we are jus looking for someone who might help us, at least a bit.

I assume that you were informed well on your mother’s condition and that you now that there is no concrete cure. In 1998, Rilutek was found – lengthens life for couple of months, but that is all. Still, there are many patients today who live more then 5 years after the diagnose, several lived for 10. I suggest that you continue with therapies and try to help her in any way she needs.
