profuse night sweats

husband type 2 diabetic....age 65 - increasingly - drenched at night with sweat - takes insulin + Actos....recently hospitalized with severe reaction to 3 wks of prescribed statin instead of policosanol & zetia...now recovering...3 wks post...resuming meds gradually - in past took natural supplements...fewer night sweats if any....took multi-vitamin, garlic, fish oil, veggie pills, ginko biloba, st.john's wort, calcium pill, niacin, zetia, polycosanol .... blood sugar controlled - on insulin pump...also recently attempting to quit smoking...using nicotine patch...

Also experiencing severe dental problems....loss of tooth structure in multiple teeth...pain, periodic infection, some bleeding...

Observations ? Suggestions ? No comment by endocrinologist or family doctor...

I don't have any specific help, but my uncle goes to a diabetes specialist. Maybe one of those could help your husband.
