| What is standard prognosis for parkinson's disease? My father, 58 years old has just returned from neurologist with bad news. He had motion problems which he hoped that were only temporary, but were not. Now he, and his family, we are all facing this new life that this illness is making for us. So, is the news really that bad? |

| Well, I guess it depends on the point of view. My father had this illness for 17 years before he passed away at the age of 72, and most of that time he tried and succeeded in leading an almost normal life, of course with the help of his family. At the moment, I know that things look ugly, but with medications, therapy, family, there is a way for him to continue with his old life. |
