I have been taking prozac 25 mg daily for about a year. What are the side effects of long term on prozac? Can they appear as delayed? I’m grateful for positive effects of prozac, but am not sure if I’m going to face with withdrawal symptoms when stopping using it. Please post. Thanks.

As you have been on prozac for that long, am sure that you experienced its side effects like dry mouth, weight gain, urinary retention or constipation. Some effects use to occur at the beginning of the therapy and disappear as body adjusts on drug. Prozac can have effects on sex life; it can reduce desire or interfere with orgasm. But as I know, there are no such delayed side effects that are likely to occur when one stop taking drug. Tolerance is usually developed so the doses have to be increased.
