Hello!
I was prescribed with prozac for my depression stages... Ok, depression is not case of discussion now...
I noticed some shivering and sweating when I ran out of prozac and didn’t get it immediately. Besides sweating, also problems with eyes. Is this normal or is this something else that i should pay more attention too?

I think this is normal reaction when person suddenly stops taking prozac. It is also writen on labeling. You shouldn’t do that again, I mean suddently stop taking prozac. If you are planning to stop on prozac, you should ask your health provider to slowly decrease the dose. That should help you decrease the chance of having symptoms such as sweating and eye problems. These are minor problems when stopping on prozac suddenly, more serious are agitation, problems with breathing, chest pain, diarrhea, dizziness etc.

Both of these drugs, Prozac and Zoloft belong to the same groups of antidepressants. They are called serotonin selective reuptake inhibitors aka SSRI’s. They have the same mechanism but each and one of them is slightly different. Prozac came first and it seems to be the least harsh. Every next drug that was placed on the market, Zoloft, Paxil, Celexa, is a bit stronger and has more severe side effects.

Every new drug seems to block additional receptors and makes the side effects more severe.

I was on both Zoloft and Prozac and I kept a diary about my every day, so I could analyze my mood. It is just something that I do. And I can say that you are right about Prozac when compared to Zoloft.
There was bigger loss of appetite when I was on Prozac and less diminished libido, but I had headaches that I had to put up with and was incredibly nervous while I wasn’t nervous at all while on Zoloft.

I would say that Zoloft is much stronger regarding side effects. Both of the drugs worked though on depression.

Hello I was reading all the post and I ran across this one with you complaining of servere headaches since being on zoloft. My advice to you is to bring this matter to doctors attenion. The reason I say this my pc doctor had gave me a sample package of zoloft i was complaining of headaches too. And I ending up in the hospital not knowing my husband my children my parents. every since then since 05 I have seizures due to my seizures i no longer can drive and when this happen i was mute for many months i had to point at letters to communicate and now that my speech has came back I sound like i'm from a different country i was born and raised as a country girl i was as country as cornbread as my moma would say now I can go no where without people wanting to know where i am since 05 there has not been a clear picture of what has happen to me but myself and freinds and family we all now that i lived a normal life untill that trail package of zoloft and xanax together there is no way to prove this but i truly don't won't no one eles to suffer the pain that my family and i face and still face right now and still no answers since 05. I pray that no one goes through this. Doctors will not amitt to their mistake and there is no prove any other way God Bless!
