My brother had a very hard life. He is only 24 years old and he is diagnosed to have psychotic disorder. He was under the treatment last year but now his condition is getting worse. He is starting to experience psychotic delusions. He believes that he is some actor. Can we treat him somehow?
Unfortunately there are a lot of cases of psychotic illness in young population. In some cases it can be treated with psychotherapies (individual, group or family therapy) and it helps as the support for the patient. But in most cases hospitalization is necessary. In severe cases it is necessary to use medications such as clozapine, haloperidol, risperidone etc.
