Posted: 10/21/06 - 22:39 Post subject: pubic shaving, how to avoid red bumps. |
|
|
I understand there are several topics about this already, but I'm still having a bit of trouble.
I have shaved my pubic area for the first few times and red bumps have come up. Other topics said to just use a fresh blade and special shaving cream, but I use an electric razor because I find it easier and just as efficient. Is this bad? Should I switch?
How can I avoid infection, because I'd really rather not go to the doctor, because it would be extremely embarrassing. |

The red bumps are merely razor burn, and that's usually due to lack of moisture on the area being shaved. I used to dry shave my pubic area too, and I had razor burn all over my skin down there. I've never used an electric razor, but I suppose that could be the cause. As far as a special shaving cream, I've never felt a need for it myself. I just lather up some soap, apply to the area, and shave using that. I've never had razor burn doing it this way, nor have I ever had an infection. I know a lot of people swear that women can get infections from using soap on their genitals, but I've yet to have it happen. The only thing resembling an infection you may get, regradless of what you use to shave, may be an infected hair follicle, which will eventually heal on its own.
I would say, for the heck of it, maybe just try shaving with soap and water, or shaving cream and water...and with a normal razor. See if this doesn't help the razor burn a little. |
