| hi, i am 17 years old, i am uncircumcised, i tried pulling back my foreskin while it was erect for the first time, i succeded in doing so, but then i tried bring the foreskin back over the head but it wouldn't come back over. eventually my penus went flaccid and i still couldn't get it over, the head was still the same size as it was wen it was erect. i started to panic then eventually i got it to come back over. is this a common problem? if so any good tips on how i shud deal with it. |

| It is not uncommon for your foreskin to get 'stuck' behind the glans when you are erect. Try 'exerc ising' your foreskin, as discussed in various other threads on this site, and over a period of time it will retract more easily. Regards, John |

If you can't pull it back because of tightness, that is phimosis. After you do pull it back, and then can't pull it forward again, paraphimosis.
As someone else said, it is one of the problems of having a foreskin. However, a mild case of paraphimosis is not necessarily a bad thing. If it's not so tight that it is choking the penis behind the head, or causing swelling or other problem, you can use it to your advantage, to keep the foreskin retracted as often and for as long as you want. This will help stretch it, and will also prevent hyersensitivity of the penis head. The head does need to get out and breathe, to stay clean and to grow and develop. |

| Usually, most people will have started masturbating at an earlier age, but you've got to 'catch up' by pulling your foreskin back on a regular basis, but not too much and not too hard for the first week or two because you might damage the foreskin and end up with some nasty penile scarring and injuries. |

One treatment besides gentle stretching over time, is a procedure that can be done in any doctor's office.
It's called a "dorsal slit", and involves a local numbing of the skin... then the doctor makes a small cut in the forskin on the dorsal (under) side... which, when healed, will allow the foreskin to slide back or forward more easily.
There is a period of healing afterwards, with minimal care to keep the incision clean... and of course, no sex while it is healing.
Ask your doctor if you should consider such a procedure.
