What should be the ideal diameter of lateral ventricles for a 22 weeks fetal?? Our report says it is 8 m and it is within normal limits. But I have been told that it is on higher side and it leads to underdevelopment of child's brain and the kid would not be normalSo please reply for that.[/b]

I just had a prenatal ultrasound and my doctor reports the lateral ventricle measures up to 10 mm which is normal. He is pretty confident about this but I still did a medline search. The upper normal is 10 mm. I also found a study that says 10 mm is too low a cutoff and it should really be 12 mm which is 4 SD up. I was also told that my baby's 3rd ventricle is seems in a high position but maybe a normal variant but difficult to exclude agenesis or hypogenesis of the corpus callosum. Has anyone encountered this prenatal findings before?
