Well, considering this has been happening two weeks before your period, it could be your ovulation period. Sometimes, we may experience problems during ovulation as well because estrogen is produced then as well.
For example, I experience throbbing sensations in my breasts, tender breasts when I put some pressure on them, I sometimes have cramps in the lower abdomen, backache and pain in the ovaries.
These symptoms are very similar to PMS, although the cramping and low back pain are more severe around my periods.

When symptoms occur around ovulation, it is called Mittelschmerz.
The pain usually occurs on one side but the sides may change during next ovulation, probably depending on which ovary releases the egg. This pain could last very shortly but it could also be present for the whole day or two. Very light vaginal bleeding, similar to the one you experienced could occur as well.

Considering the bleeding and following symptoms occurred after sex, make sure you do make that appointment and see if there were not an underlying condition.
