I am a lifer with pot. I have just quit. Any long term users I know are perfectly normal but like to smoke pot instead of tobacco. They are successful, productive. reliable. In short, good people. All this talk of wild reactions makes me think it's from uninformed sources or completely anti drug paranoics! Ok, I'll agree all the hard drugs are bad bad bad but pot? Nah, it's just too damn expensive and I'm just tired of it.

I don't understand - is this a rant?

Awesome - you too believe that people with self control can benefit (or at least defy casual expectations) when using good old, old MJ.

So you are pro-pot, you quit, and you know successful long-term users. As for drug reactions...you have to either take biology, chemistry or both in their advanced levels to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual. Some regular users may experience a completely different effect at one time or another, and there's a myriad of factors to consider.

But hey - you seem to have come through unscathed. Congrats.

Problem is that tehy are now coming out with studies that prove marijuana has a 3 times more likely rate to give you cancer than tobacco even with all of tobacos chemicals.

Put down high times and pick up a medical journal. That is why marijuana is illegal and marinol is not.

The problem I have is that out of 20+ friends I can think of who are regular smokers about 15 or so of them are losers. No college working part time under 15 an hour jobs. 5 of those don't even have jobs.

Pot makes going nowhere ok. While there are those like me (I have 2 masters degrees, one in CS and CIS) who had smoked their entire adult life and were ok. Most people are not ok. While I smoke I think it has taken a huge toll on my friends lives and families.
