im in need of some advice... my periods are very irregular an it is not un common for me to go for 2-3 months without having one. the last one i had was at the end of feb and its now mid april so normally i wouldnt be to worried but in the last 4 weeks ive been gettin occasional lower abdominal cramps like period pain i get them randomly up to 5 times a day and am almost bent double in pain. i dont no wether its related but in the last 4weeks i have gained 11lbs for no particular reason. my stomach having been near enough flat now looks bloated. i am sexually active and not using any form of the pill. im scared that i may be pregnant as i am only 17... please help me and tell me if there could be another explanation for how i feel!

you may have IBS, but with the missed periods and cramping you should probably get to a doctor ASAP because if you are pregnant, your bodies not getting what it needs Confused

You may want to get checked for endometriosis (sp?) that's where instead of your period coming out it actually goes into sacks that form outside of your uterus. It can spread to other organs and cause painful cramping.
Birth control can help regulate your periods and if you're sexually active I would highly recommend birth control, especially since you're so young! You have your whole life ahead of you Very Happy
Best wishes! Hope you feel better and it's not too serious : )

How bad is your abdominal pain you get? I'm responding about the 2nd reply about you may have IBS. I have IBS and before i was diagnosed with it. The abdominal pain I had was so painful and I would usually get the pain during school. I even cried cause it hurt so bad. Some women do have irregular periods. I would go to the doctor to make sure that you aren't pregnant. If it turns out your not and want to regulate your periods i would suggest you going on birth control.
