Hi, I have a problem. Actually, I have many problems and I am avoiding those with the help of alcohol. That has been going on for two years now and I admit that I am sick of it. Not only I have endangered my job position, I have made tons of new problems at home. Anyway, I am going to begin with rational recovery self help meetings. What do you think of those?

Well, you are admitting that you have a problem and you are willing to deal with those and that is a start. As for rational recovery, I have heard several people that are saying it is one of the best methods for dealing with the addiction issues so I suppose that it can help you too. I had a similar problem, although it was with nicotine but I somehow managed to deal with it with the help of meds.

Rational Recovery (RR) is a new self-help movement for substance abusers, with a cognitive orientation. It has been suggested as an alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous.
