Doctor told her that she has Raynaud's nipple. I have never heard anything like that. What is Raynaud's nipple?
Hi, Raynaud's disease is a circulation related problem. By it, blood vessels are affected. They constrict making the blood flow to some body parts insufficient. This happens when a person that suffers from Raynaud's disease is exposed to cold or stressful situations. This condition can be a disease for itself (primary Raynaud's) and can have an underlying disease (secondary Raynaud's or Raynaud's phenomenon). Raynaud's phenomenon is known by affecting the nipples of breastfeeding mothers-the condition is known as Raynaud's nipple. Breastfeeding by women that have raynaud's nipple can be very painful. It is also related to cold temperatures. raynaud's nipple is often mistaken for Candida albicans infection and is treated as if it were this infection. In order to be diagnosed, special tests need to be performed. It is good that the doctor your friend goes to has recognized the right problem.
