reasons for slippery egg- white discharge bedsides ovulation??

I had the normal few days of thicker discharge and then ending inthe slippery egg white stuff and was just wondring if any one knows if there could be other reasons that this would happen besides ovulation- kind of a dumb question but it came about a week and a half after my period this time and I thought was kind of wierd!!
