Hi,
I'm a 30 year old female. I had a laparascopy 8 days ago to identify an on-going 18 month pain in my lower right abdomen. This found adhesions from an appendix removal 3 years ago and also found adhesions on my left adhering my bowel to my left ovary. I have been very sore for the last few days after op with the classsic shoulder pain cased by gas i assumed, which appears to be better now.
I am concerned as i have had a pain beaneath my right rib which doesn't seem to be getting any better. The pain is sharp and restrictive and I have had this since the surgery.
It doesn't hurt when i lay down but hurts when i breath deeply, even though my other pains from the op appear to be decreasing with time which is good news.
I do find that when i stand up straight and stretch the pain decreses but it is causing me to walk slightly bent over as it hurts. Other than this i feel quite well, but a little fed up with this pain that is starting to now concern me.
Is it normal to have pain in this region after a Laparoscopy for so long after the op? What could it be? |
