Hi, all. About a week ago I released some gas and I noticed that with it I released some fluid as well. Afterwards, when I went to bathroom, I noticed something what looked like mucus. But, it disappeared the following day and so I did not pay to much attention to it. All that happened few days ago. But, I noticed the mucus again yesterday morning ant it is still present. It doesn’t cause any pain or anything else. So, I'm just wondering what could that be, the cause for it, and could it be serious.

Hi. Amongst others, mucous can be caused by malabsorption, inflammatory bowel disease fecal incontinence or colitis. But, in order do determine right cause, you should have some kind of endoscopy. After you find what is the cause in your case, consult your dr. to determine your next moves.
