My husband had a hip replacement in June. With on and off infection. Had to have IV's of cipro and vancomiacin every 12 hours at home. Now the leg is very swollen and hard. He had DVT that went to his lungs. And is on Lovenex shots 2 times a day. Just came from the surgeon and they did blood test. They are thinking of removal of the replacement. What are the risk and the quality of life with walking and doing everyday functions?
This all started in 05 with Kidney cancer to bladder cancer to pelvic bone cancer that end up with the hip replacement. Please could you give me some insight on what is going to happen, and what I have to look forward to. But most of all What my husband is going to go through.
