I just had an appointment with a specialist for my thyroid. I have had a scan I think a CT, an ultrasound and a needle biopsy. There is a large nodule on my left side and it is 3 inches long and about 2 inches wide. The specialist is going to do the needle biopsy again 3 times they didn't get enough cells last time, so they have to do it again, anyway he said that they will most likely remove just the left side of my thyroid. I gained about 120lbs in less than a year back in 2002 and the specialist told me that I have probably had it for at least 3 years. So I guess my question is-Will I loose weight with the partial thyroid removal??? I also might have polycystic ovarian syndrome and I haven't had a normal menstration since 2002, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since 2002, so I was also wondering what treatment they would do for that? I am getting lab work to find out if i do have POS, and they will have the lab work back in a few days.
