renal problems,no answers from my doctor

i am 23 yrs old and at age 18 was diagnosed with congenital upj obstruction of right kidney. ive had surgery,and have to have stents placed about once a year. it hurts all the time and there's no way to fix it according to my dr. he is not willing to remove it for fear that the left kidney will fail. what am i supposed to do??
