Hi, I`m 26 years old and for the past 3 and a half months I have a problem with cracks in the corners of my lips, reoccuring for all that time. Don`t know what to do. I have a bf and wonder if it`s sexually transmitted. Haven`t kissed him for those 3 and a half months. Is there some sort of a cream or med for those cracks? Could it be herpes?
Hi, you probably have inflammation that occurs at the corners of the mouth, so called angular stomatitis - the offical name for cracks in the corners of the mouth. Had the same problem last year - the saliva builds up at the corners of your lips, irritating them. It`s not herpes or infectious, so no worries.. OTC 1% hydrocortisone and vaseline (to keep your mouth corners moisturize) worked for my cracks, so maybe you should try treating your problem with that.
