My sister had 1/3 of her colon removed on 2/6. It is now 2/16 and her digestion has not started up. She has had nothing by mouth. She is urinating normally.
Is this length of time normal?

I had a tumor and 1/3 of colon removed on 3/12. I didn't eat solid food for 5 days. Liquids were ok though. I had extreme nausea probably from the pain medications. Once I had the epidural removed I was ok.
