My daughter has just come from the gynecologist office and the doctor told her that her uterus is reversed. To be honest I have never heard of this before and therefore I am very concerned. Can this be fixed? Please, advice! Thank you!!!!!

Hi there! Usually uterus lies horizontally over the bladder, but sometimes it may happen that it is vertically or even rotated toward rectum which is called retroverted. Sometimes this is not a problem, but sometimes it may be. There are ways to correct this problem. Uterus is either moved to the common position or removed by hysterectomy. Repositioning is done by laparoscopic surgery, and fertility is preserved. I believe that her gynecologist will give you more information on the topic next time you see him.
