rheumatoid arthritis and anemia

Hi, my friend is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for some time already. He is taking prescribed medications and till now he was feeling pretty good. When he visited his doctor several days ago he told him that his blood results showed anemia. I would like to know if this anemia is connected with arthritis and if someone had similar experience.

Hi, my relative is also suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and he has anemia. Mild anemia is very frequent for people who are suffering from arthritis. It can be corrected easily with proper therapy but also you would be cautious because of possibility that anemia is caused by bleeding in his intestines. This bleeding may be caused by NSAID which are people with arthritis taking for long period of time.
