My mother is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. Onset of her symptoms was so sudden that I still can't believe that she has if. Her joints in arms and legs are mostly swollen, red and she has severe pains every time she moves the hands or legs. Can you tell me what kind of medications she should use?

I have rheumatoid arthritis too. I am fighting with this disease for two years. I had pains even before that but it has gradually started to build up. I have started to use medications when the pain has become unbearable. You can use salicylates such as aspirin to decrease the inflammation, then ibuprofen, corticosteroids like prednisone and immunosuppressives like azathioprine.
