right side of face numbness

Hi, my mother has numbness of right side of face. Is it some neurological disorder? How severe can it be?

Hi, I have been experiencing a ringing in my right ear, headaches, and numbness of right side of face in episodes about 30 seconds. I couldn’t find the reason why was it happening to me. The numbness would come and go in different extent. sometimes, even my neck glands were swollen, as it was under infection. The doctor told me it was a pinched nerve and it would clear up by itself. But, he didn’t really do any testing to come to this conclusion or confirm it. A friend of mine told me it could be indicating signs of stroke, so I am really scared.
