What is difference in dose of Roaccutane and Accutane? I just picked up 2 week supply of Accutane from pharmacy, and I can’t seem to find where it is written prescribed dose. I used Roaccuatne before, so I guess that I can take same dose of Accutane as I was of Roaccuatne.

As the primary mechanism of action of oral isotretinoin is suppression of sebaceous gland activity, mucocutaneous side effects such as dry lips, nasal passages and eyes are predictable, and it has been sold under many brand names including Accutane and Roaccutane. The dose of Accutane is based upon the patient’s weight and it is 2mg/kg. So if your weight is 150 lbs daily dose of Accutane is 75 mg, in divided doses.
