My friend’s son was diagnosed with testicular rotation or torsion; I am not quite sure what is right. Can I get more info about this because I feel pretty stupid not knowing anything. Is it something dangerous?

I will try to give you information that you want to know. You don’t have a reason to feel stupid just because you don’t know what that condition is all about. Not everyone knows everything, so I hope that I will be clear enough with my answer. As you said that you are not sure what the name is of your friend’s condition, I will tell you more about testicular torsion. Torsion of the testis or more correctly is torsion of the spermatic cord. It is a surgical emergency because it causes strangulation of gonadal blood supply. This can lead to testicular necrosis and atrophy. This condition usually affects young boys from 7 to 12 years. Testicular torsion refers to twisting of the spermatic cord structures. This can be either in the inguinal canal or just below the inguinal canal. Torsion of the spermatic cord can interrupt blood flow to the testis and epididymis. Talk to your friend and ask her about her son’s condition.
