ruptured blood vessels

I had my box practice three days ago. After I went home and my wife noticed that my eye is red. I was not punched in the eye. My doctor said that it was caused by ruptured blood vessels in my eye. I did it because I practice very hard. Can somebody tell me, what is ruptured blood vessel?

Ruptured blood vessel is a broken vessel. In your case it is in eye, but can be anywhere. The most dangerous is brain rupture of blood vessel. Further, it means that when it happen blood from inside got out. I suppose that this was told to you, but it would be OK if you put some ice on that eye. In most of the cases red eye is healed in several days.
