| I have pollen allergy, allergic rhinitis. It gives me a lot of problems like nose dripping, throat itching, annoying feeling of skin rash I dont know how, but it seems to me that each year, the condition worsens, and that medications are not that effective. Furthermore, I think that side effects are more dangerous than the good sides of meds I use. What is the safest antihistaminic for long term use? |

| Antihistaminic medications are divided in two groups, H1 that block histamine receptors (do not allow histamine release). Most popular H1 drugs are Prometazin, Feniramin, Astemizol, Loratadin. Each of these has some bad effects. There is no 100 safe antihistaminic. I think that your doctor should choose the right medication for you. |
