Posted: 04/22/08 - 20:05 Post subject: safety of yellow fever vaccination following thymus irradiat
I am a 57 year old woman with a history of irradiation of the thymus as a very young child (this procedure was used fairly routinely at that time)
I have no history of any thymus diseases or problems. (I have had a sub-total thyroidectomy due to a benign nodule)
Thymus disease, surgical removal of the thymus, and thymoma contraindicate vaccination for Yellow Fever. Is there any reason I should not be vaccinated?
