scrotal itch

Hello. I'm 27 year old male and I have developed some skin problem. I don’t know anything about it or about the possible causes but this scrotal itch is killing me.
I have started to suffer from it about a month ago and it get worse in the night while I'm sleeping. Sometimes the itching is so intense I could rip the skin of. I'm afraid what could be the cause. I'm sexually active but I have never had any sexually transmitted disease and even now- I can't see any visible skin changes or any other symptoms.
Please tell me what could be the cause of all this!

I'm very sorry that you’ve developed this scrotal itch because I can only imagine how unpleasant this could be. I have read some articles about possible causes and you don’t have to be afraid because it isn’t anything serious. It could hardly be a sign of some STD because you would have some other symptoms along with visible skin changes.
Scrotal itching is a common symptom of a fungal infection or contact dermatitis. This are of your body is very sensitive to heat and warm conditions because it is perfect environment for fungal grow.
So, should avoid wearing tight and non-cotton underwear. It could be also some mild inflammation especially if you shave this area. If the problem continues to bother you- contact your dermatologist.
