I am looking for a reference to back up the statement that a seizure is triggered to stop when the oxygen level in the brain drops.

Thus in a seizure lasting under 5 min, with no complications, oxygen is not necessary, and perhaps could prolong the time of the seizure.

Is this true? can you offer any references.
