severe diarrhea with cancer

Hello there! I am treated for leukemia, have my chemo’s regularly but I ended up with severe diahhrea and I can’t figure out a reason to this! Did anybody have similar experiences? Please help, I wouldn’t like to have this happen to me again, so all replies are more that welcome!

Hi! When I was on PURI-NETHOL, it happened to me that I got diahhrea as well. This happens due to overdose. This medicine could have caused nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite as well and have serious effects on bone marrow, blood cells and the way the your liver functions…So, if you happen to be on this drug or maybe any other of this type can cause the same thing! You should talk to your doctor about the medicines you are taking! Good luck!

You will have many different effects from your treatment and you can help yourself out more by eating things like protien and drinking a lot of weight gainer drinks and protien shakes to help keep your weight up. The biggest problem chemo causes is weight loss which makes you weak and tired. Try to always eat something even if you do not feel hungry.
