about since november i have been feeling very sick at night and the only thing that seems to make it feel better is if i burp alot, it is really upsetting me and i want it sorted. I have been to the doctors twice and their prescriptions have twice failed. At the moment i am stuck taking gaviscon tablets everynight - which are rather expensive after a while. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions to what it could be...my doctor said that some sort of flap thing wasnt keeping the acid in my stomach when i lay down, but i think they were wrong since it now happens when i am sitting up. please help me any ideas. i am currently doing exams and my family think its due to stress, i however feel different. any ideas at all...thanks

I don't want to scare you but the fact that you have nausea associated with excessive burping could be a sign of stomach cancer. Of course, the more likely thing is that you have a bad diet and are sensitive to lactose. Try going off milk and dairy for a week and see if this helps.

Try getting an ultra sound of your stomach, it could be something to do with your gall bladder.. possibly gallstones, surgery to have your gall bladder removed is pretty simple.

The same thing happens to me. It's called you lower esophageal or upper esophageal sphincter. As food passes down your esophagus and stomach, it's sort of like a door that should only open when food is coming in, and never let food back up. But, it cases such as acid reflux, or GERD, this happens. I have the same thing happen to me, it's a pain, but you learn to live with it. Look it up on the internet, and you will find some really helpful tips on how to deal with it. If you want a diagnosis, ask your doctor for a barium swallow test. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions about it!!

I have had those problems you guys have listed. I was diagnosed with acid reflux in my senior year. so i have had it ever since then. but then i got off my nexium cuz i thought it been making me very nauseous. it been little better a while ago. during 1st year in collegei had some chest pain which though to be acid reflux. then 2nd year it had lead to stomach problem it hurt so much. and the doctor thought it was related to stress. i had diarhea, constipation, but it been better when i got out of school. but 2nd year i have thrown up a lot but summer been the worst time ever being nauseous. now my throat is burning from the throw up.
