I was on Seasonale for over a year, and only started bleeding into my second pack. After that point, it was constantly starting and stopping every day or other day. This went on for several months. Even after ultrasounds and tests, mydoctor had few answers for me... Then to make matters worse, I started lactating. I wasn't pregnant, but the blood test they took said my
prolactin levels were that of a normal pregnant woman. ??? After that I stopped taking pills all together, as I am married, we chose more natural, unsynthetic methods of birth control. That was one year ago in July. I stopped bleeding daily in December, but have not had a normal period since. I still
lactate occasionally before my period, though, even now. I was told about medication that I could maybe take to dry it up, but would need a costly MRI first (of my pituitary gland), and my insurance will not cover it... So for now, I quite regret my decision to take seasonale, as it seems to me to continue to cause problems after a year of being off them!
