It is definitely due to menopause. Some women only lose lubrication that disable pleasant sex but this can be fixed with lubrication but lack of libido is another thing but also caused by hormonal fluctuations ie decrease in hormonal levels.
Hormones blamed the most are estrogen and testosterone. Although testosterone is a male hormone it is also produced by female bodies and it influences sexual desire. If the levels of estrogen drop, so do the levels of testosterone. This greatly influences women and creates many menopausal side effects like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, fatigue, low libido, etc
In women who undergo hormonal therapies, these symptoms may be improved especially if testosterone is also taken. \but hormonal therapies have been linked to increased risk of breast and cervical cancer, so they are consumed with caution.
