Very Happy hello! i have had these sharp chest pains since I was a little girl...probably 8yrs old. I still get them today im 28 yrs old- i know! CRAZY! I have never been to a dr. concerning this matter...due to me controlling the problem...this usually happens to me when I am very exhausted- after working out, etc. But not until tonight that the chest pains awoke me- this is the first time that this happens- I know time to go and find the problem! What Ive done in the past "attacks" i calm down and try to breath slower- to get my heartbeats down- this seems to woork for me- the pains consist of sharp pains and abnormal heartbeats- sometimes its very hard for me to breath because the heartbeats get sharper- so I do short-breaths...I have been battleing this for many years...I do have family heart history and it scares me to go to a dr. and get bad news- but i know its the best thing to do! good luck to everyone:)!

that is so crazy that other girls know what i'm feeling! i seriously thought i was having a heart attack or something..haha.

i'm 20, and these pains started happened about a week ago. really intense, SHARP pains under my left breast. on a scale of 1-10...they get up to 9's for sure! its awful!

buuut i just talked to my doctor on the phone and he was like, 'oh, it's got to be your gallbladder'... so i feel so much better. that sounds better than a heart problem! i'm going to get everything looked at tomorrow, so maybe i'll post and let y'all know how it goes.

I am 24 years old and have been having the same pains around my left breast. Tehy come and go just as you have explained yours. I took some diet pills a few weeks ago and was concerned that they were the cause, but I haven't taken them for a month now. I am still having the pains, and it does hurt when I press on the area. I would love to hear about anything you find out.

I am 24 years old, I have ulcerative colitis (an inflamation of the large intestine) I have sharp pains right under my left breast, it gets embarassing for me because the pain feels like a heartattack that i actually scream out for help from family members thinking im dying and want to be rushed to a hospital. Its so scary.

I did a heart test, and ultra sound, but i will ask about my gal bladder i didnt know it could be that. I am currently taking Salofalk 16 pills a day
maybe its my meds
i have no heart probs

I will update u on what my doc says!

I have had the same feeling ever since I started on birth control (Kariva). I told my doctor how I was feeling and he told me to continue taking the pills because he had never heard of them causing those symptoms. I didn't take his advice and stopped taking the BC. I began to feel better within a few days. After a year of not being on BC I tried a new kind (Seasonique) and within 3 days I was having the same awful feeling in my chest again. This time I went to my new doctor and he did all kinds of tests on my heart and thyroid. All the tests came back fine. I have completely stopped taking BC now. I am still not back to "normal", a week or 2 before my period I begin to have pain in my chest and I feel like I am dying, but it has gotten better.....hopefully I will be completely back to my old self soon.

GOOD LUCK

I too have had sharp pain under my left breast. I am 25 and this has been going on since I was a teen. It is pretty infrequent and seems to just happen. It is not related to exercise or eating, etc. I went to the doctor a few times a they could not tell me anything. They did say it is probably nothing cardiac. Sitting still helps the pain to go away. Laughing, coughing, leaning forward and breathing in deep back it worse.

Best wishes everyone!

I've been experiencing these sharp pains too, right under both my breasts. I'm 20 years old and also thought I was having a heart attack, but I'm glad in way that other people are experiencing this (even though it really sucks). It also hurts when I apply pressure on the area or breathe deeply when it happens. Has anyone figured out what it is yet?

Actually, i am 13 and having this problem. Probally everytime after meal. If I breath harder it will hurt more. It will go away after a while. Should I consult a doctor or something?

I've gotten these before since forever. I usually have to wait it out, breathing carefully. When it finally subsides and I am able to move again, I drink a couple of glasses of water. I was always told that the pain is your diaphram and means that you are dehydrated, so drink up!

If you think about it, you will probably say "oh yeah, I wasn't drinking enough water."

I hope you will all try this and not be scared that its your heart. Smile

Wow I have been freaking out. I am 26 and having the same type of pain everyone else is describing. Behind the breast. About a year and a half ago I noticed that i would lose my breath quite easily. A flight of stairs would wind me to the point that I would be gasping for breath. Then I started getting the pains in my left breast. Went to the doc had an EKG and holter monitor. Said I have a slight arythmia but never said anything about what the pain could be. I get it fairly often and sometimes its long lasting. I've had it all day today in fact. Im scared Im going to have a heart attack one of these days. I do take seasonale. About 3 years or so now. Wondering if that could be the problem, although none of this started until a year and a half or so ago. Maybe it just escalated from the pills. I want to go off the pill to see if it stops but I have severe cramps and PMS that is near impossible to live with (lots of pain meds, too much at once really, heating pads, crying pain etc.). I think I may go to a different doctor b/c this is quite scary.
