Posted: 05/17/08 - 20:25 Post subject: pain behind belly button to my clitoris |
|
|
| I am so glad, relieved, hopeful to find these postings... what in the world is causing this pain that truly does feel like a sharp pain behind the belly button which travels down a "string" to my clitoris. It's scary, painful and I wonder if it is affecting my ability to get pregnant. I have been tested for fertility issues with no concerning results, had an ultrasound inside and out, been palpated by doctors and my chiropractor and still no answer. I first noticed the pain after doing difficult crunches (on a slanted bench bringing my knees up to my chest at the urging of the personal trainer) three years ago. I haven't revisited abdominal crunches in over two years, have no bulging through my belly button (sign of an umbilical hernia) yet I continue to get this pain at least once a month (at different times in my cycle) with no explainable preceding cause...I can't wear some outfits anymore because of the snap, button, etc. touching this area. My doctor is sending me for a CT scan as the ultrasound showed nothing. Any advice, thoughts, etc.. Thank You in advance!!! |

Know what you mean with the "string" feeling. Doctors think you're nuts! Before having children I suffered from this, even passing out from the pain on one ocassion. It is not caused by gas. Haven't suffered from it for a long time and don't wish it on my worst enemy |

| Well this just happened to me. I'm a guy too and i was working out/benching today. It happened as I sat here in the chair was gonna stretch back and it was there. Happens once in a while, i always feel like my belly button becomes the most sensitive part of my body when this happens, reminds me of an open wound. When i slowly stretch back though it hurts a little but then goes away. very strange and would like to know 1. what it is and 2. why it only happens so rarely. I workout regularly btw and havent gotten this in over 4 months or more. |

Hello,
I have read all of the comments on this page and also have my own experience with this condition to share. I have had this pain several times too, but once it got really bad and sent me to the hospital. I had the pain in the back of my belly button pulling down, but I also had blood in my urine at the same time that was extremely painful. I could barely walk. I went to the hospital ER to see what was going on. They did a culture of my urine and later told me that three bacterias were present. I called back later to ask what these were, and they said, "Oh, we don't really know because we did not get a clean catch." I thought this was very strange. I lived in a mountain valley at the time and they had forest fires in the area and smoke was filling the air for days. I also knew another young girl and her mother that were having bladder infections at the same time. I talked to another woman in town about this and she said it sounded like yeast! Well, yeast grows in an non-oxygen environment. When forest fires are in the area like that it cuts the oxygen levels and people will get sickness from that. I believed that the combination of too much sugar in the diet ( which yeast feeds off of), the lack of sufficient oxygen levels, and being a smoker, contributed to this condition. The drugs they gave me just teased the condition and only knocked it down briefly.
I finally got some Pau D Arco tea and some liquid oxygen drops and drank that for a few days and watched sugars. This killed it! I have only had a mild rare flare up since that time. If it starts to come back I repeat the steps above and it's gone. Watch soda pops they feed it. I agree only somewhat with the person that thought this condition was related to gas. That can be part of it, but this is much more painful and hard to kill than gas. They probably have not felt this themselves. I doubt that TUMS would work at all.
Well, I hope this helps someone else out there. |

| How strange I have had the same thing happen to me for years. It happened before I ever got my period. If I bend backwards or stand up straight it is like I am getting stabbed. I am 25 now, and a few years ago I asked my gyno what it could be, and she said that unless I had a laparoscopy done, she wouldn't be able to tell me. She said it may have something to do with the endometriosis that runs in my family, but I had pains since childhood! I explain this pain to others and they look at me like I am crazy. The gyno told me to keep a journal and write down when it happens, and then compare it to my cycle to see if it has to do with ovulation or my period. I never did because it happens so randomly and it has happened since childhood. I wish someone would explain what this is! |

|
|
| Hi, im a 23 yr old male and ive had this problem before and i woke up with it this morning, its very painfull i think it is due to some sort of strain. the only reason i think this is because yesterday it was a friends Birthday party and i had way too much to eat and drink. and if i remember correctly the last time it happend to me it was after a party. i think/hope it is only because of strain or stretching ("eyes are bigger than my belly"). i dont know if anyone else can relate to it like me but i thought i would leave this msg. Hope you are all ok now. regards Peter |

| Im a 35 year old maleproblem for over 15 years!! Its so hard to explain the feeling. I always said it felt how a elastic band would feel like when being stetched, right behing the belly button. I cant laugh cough bend over, nothen. It takes 4 hrs for it to go away. I have to lay down on my side on the bed for 4 hrs and not move. I have had a small bilacord hernia and that didnt stop the pain. If I do alot of bending over I can cause it hurt. If I were to reach into my car through the window and rest my stomach on the door and reach in pushing my stomach downward it will instintly cause the pain. I wish I could find out what this is. No doctor up here believes me and says its in my head becasue test have not shown anything!! Please help me with this!! |

Hi there,
I'm a 14 year old girl.
This has just happened to me, it's happening right now.
It's a sharp searing pain behind my belly button, and it's like a string's attached to it.
It's not fun, and my parents think I'm being silly, but it really hurts.
I went to the bathroom and it started pulling and hurting really bad while I was peeing.
What is this ?
It's not from my period, I just finished it.
It's not gas... Gas is cramps, not a pulling ripping feeling in your belly button.
I'm NOT pregnant, and I know that for a fact.
So confused! |

| I'm just now having the same pain and I'm comforted to know that I'm not alone. It feels exactly like a string from my belly button to my clitoris. Because of the location and because it happens to men too, I'm guessing it's a nerve. It is probably getting pulled or pinched by abodomen muscles or tendons or something. That's no very scientific but I feel a little better about it now. It's probably nothing to worry about. |
