I am interested in nature of shicimic acid and what is it used for. What is its role in antiviral drug tamiflu? Does shikimic acid work synergistically with oseltamivir phosphate? I have never heard about shimic acid’s antiviral action. I need more informations about these two ingredients of tamifllu?

Shimic acid is widely used for the pharmaceutical synthesis. Oseltamivir phosphate is just one example. Shicimic acid has no therapeutically effects. It works as a chiral building block. Oseltamivir phosphate is antiviral drug. It is well known as tamiflu. It is indicated in treatment of influenza viruses.
