shorter period & pregnancy problem

hi i wanna know that my period cycle from the start is short 2 days only now it goes some time 1 day with very light bleeding is it not normal if i get any pills of any kinf vitamins or pain killer my bleeding almost stops. I get so much cramps before one week starting my periods i am 38 years and i still wanna be pregannt is is ok for pregnancy.
