My son is diagnosed with add and after 9 years of being on different meds but never really getting better we decided to try for him to be med free to see how he is.He lost his anger problems but started with the hyperness like making noises but i can stand that better then him fighting with me. Well he got into trouble and due to him being on probation he was put into a treatment center. He still wants to be med free but couldn't sleep at night so he asked to have something to sleep. They have him on Seroquil 100 milligrams.I work in a nursing home and heard one of the nurses talking about it so i asked and found ouyt that it is not for sleep it is a psychosis problems. So we looked it up and it says a side affect could be anger issues is this correct cause my son has been having some anger problems again but i thought it was maybe because he is locked up now i am worried it is the medicine.

Well, although it is primarily used for treating schizophrenia and bipolar mania, it also has many off -label uses. It is actually being given to those people who are agitated, jumping out of their skin and can't sleep. It is said it can make people sleep a lot. It is the mildest of the atypical antipsychotics, but is the best at helping one sleep.

However, some people have linked seroquel use with suicidal thoughts, feelings of anger and rage, anger being a serious side effect that can cause injury to the patients taking it. But I don’t know if it is a long or short term side effect.

I have a family history of depression so when I began researching I became quite frankly, terrified at some of the side affects of these drugs. So, I looked for alternatives and discovered that the two people in my family who seemed to have more significant depression indeed had wheat allergies, but by removing the whole grains, the B vitamins would be lost as well. Riboflavin in larger doses helped with their sleep and Inositol in therapeutic doses worked beautifully on the depression. A whole food diet is an absolute must with no sugar, no white anything no soda, no artificial sugars, splenda etc. Difficult regime but guess what, NO SIDE AFFECTS!!! And happiness, laughter, It may not work for everyone but it sure has helped our family.
