Hello! I suffer from bipolar disease and have just started a drug called lithium. My problem is that immediately started experiencing side effects of being so slow, and tired and I even got diarrhea. I wanted to check if anybody else experienced side effects immediately while started with this drug. Should I stick to it or immediately quit with it? All replies are welcome!!!!

Hello! What is your daily dose? Mine was 7 capsules a day, and then I experienced this slowness you are talking about, would occasionally get tremors, dry mouth, and diarrhea. When my doc dropped the dose to 4/day, all the side effects vanished gradually. The drug is good for me, and if you can cope with these side effects at the beginning I think you should stick to it and then see if it is any good for you.
