Yes, not every woman is a good candidate for the procedure. Women who have had previous allergic reactions to latex (in condoms or latex gloves) should not undergo this procedure. Also, women who have uterine growths (benign) and suspected cervical or uterine malignancies. Women who still wish to have children should not consider this procedure because even if you do manage to get pregnant, the fetus may not be able to attach to the lining or it would attach somewhere else, most likely in the Fallopian tubes and would cause ectopic pregnancy that would have to be terminated anyway.
The benefits of this procedure have been established in various studies, and the most successful results were seen with increasing age, smaller uterine cavity, lesser degree of pre-procedure menorrhagia and with higher balloon pressure.
If all the terms and factors have been satisfied and women properly selected, the procedure is safe.
