Well, any swelling in the scrotum and anywhere else in the body needs to be evaluated. The swelling could indicate cysts (harmless), varicocele, tumors. In order to know for sure, you need to be examined by an urologist. If they are not able to determine the cause of the swelling during physical exam, they may order some screening tests like an ultrasound or transillumination.
Make sure you do make that appointment as varicocele could lead to infertility (that is fortunately reversible) and early diagnosis of tumors is half the cure. |
